Communicable Diseases Intelligence (CDI) is a quarterly publication of the Surveillance Branch, Office of Health Protection, Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. It aims to provide information about communicable diseases in Australia to inform and assist those with responsibility for communicable disease control in a wide variety of settings.

Issues published in 2009 include four quarterly reports.

Summary of issues for 2009

Issue 1 - March 2009 contains annual reports on meningococcal disease and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus plus articles on measles, dengue, human metapneumovirus, Q fever surveillance, hepatitis A and an egg-associated Salmonella outbreak, as well as the regular quarterly data reports.

Issue 2 - June 2009 contains annual reports on Australia's nationally notifiable diseases, aboviral diseases and malaria, immunisation coverage and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease plus articles on encephalitis trends and aetologies, dengue in north Queensland, rotavirus in Queensland, childhood influenza, HIV drug resistance, meningococcal and measles, as well as the regular quarterly data reports.

Issue 3 - September 2009 contains annual reports on meningococcal and gonococcal surveillance, tuberculosis, trachoma and poliovirus, plus articles on Flutracking surveillance, influenza B in Vicotria and rotavirus vaccination, as well as the regular quarterly data reports.

Issue 4 - December 2009 contains annual reports on adverse events following immunisation, rotavirus and foodborne diseases, plus articles on outbreeaks of Salmonella, as well as the regular quarterly data reports.
